Sura 7228 versesRevelation order 40الجن

  1. بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

    In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
  2. قُل أوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ استَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الجِنِّ فَقالوا إِنّا سَمِعنا قُرءانًا عَجَبًا

    Say, "I was inspired that a group of jinns listened, then said, 'We have heard a wonderful Quran.*

  3. يَهدى إِلَى الرُّشدِ فَـٔامَنّا بِهِ ۖ وَلَن نُشرِكَ بِرَبِّنا أَحَدًا

    " 'It guides to righteousness, and we have believed in it; we will never set up any idols beside our Lord.

  4. وَأَنَّهُ تَعٰلىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنا مَا اتَّخَذَ صٰحِبَةً وَلا وَلَدًا

    " 'The Most High is our only Lord. He never had a mate, nor a son.

  5. وَأَنَّهُ كانَ يَقولُ سَفيهُنا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا

    " 'It is the foolish among us who used to utter such nonsense about GOD.

  6. وَأَنّا ظَنَنّا أَن لَن تَقولَ الإِنسُ وَالجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا

    " 'We thought that neither the humans, nor the jinns, could possibly utter lies about GOD.

  7. وَأَنَّهُ كانَ رِجالٌ مِنَ الإِنسِ يَعوذونَ بِرِجالٍ مِنَ الجِنِّ فَزادوهُم رَهَقًا

    " 'Human beings used to seek power through jinn beings, but they only afflicted them with a lot of adversity.

  8. وَأَنَّهُم ظَنّوا كَما ظَنَنتُم أَن لَن يَبعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا

    " 'They thought, just like you thought, that GOD would not send another (messenger).

  9. وَأَنّا لَمَسنَا السَّماءَ فَوَجَدنٰها مُلِئَت حَرَسًا شَديدًا وَشُهُبًا

    " 'We touched the heaven and found it filled with formidable guards and projectiles.

  10. وَأَنّا كُنّا نَقعُدُ مِنها مَقٰعِدَ لِلسَّمعِ ۖ فَمَن يَستَمِعِ الءانَ يَجِد لَهُ شِهابًا رَصَدًا

    " 'We used to sit there in order to spy. Anyone who listens is pursued by a powerful projectile.

  11. وَأَنّا لا نَدرى أَشَرٌّ أُريدَ بِمَن فِى الأَرضِ أَم أَرادَ بِهِم رَبُّهُم رَشَدًا

    " 'We have no idea if something bad is intended for the inhabitants of Earth, or if their Lord wills to redeem them.

  12. وَأَنّا مِنَّا الصّٰلِحونَ وَمِنّا دونَ ذٰلِكَ ۖ كُنّا طَرائِقَ قِدَدًا

    " 'Some of us are righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow various paths.
  13. وَأَنّا ظَنَنّا أَن لَن نُعجِزَ اللَّهَ فِى الأَرضِ وَلَن نُعجِزَهُ هَرَبًا

    " 'We knew full well that we can never run away from GOD on Earth; we can never run away and escape.

  14. وَأَنّا لَمّا سَمِعنَا الهُدىٰ ءامَنّا بِهِ ۖ فَمَن يُؤمِن بِرَبِّهِ فَلا يَخافُ بَخسًا وَلا رَهَقًا

    " 'When we heard the guidance, we believed therein. Anyone who believes in his Lord will never fear any injustice, nor any affliction.

  15. وَأَنّا مِنَّا المُسلِمونَ وَمِنَّا القٰسِطونَ ۖ فَمَن أَسلَمَ فَأُولٰئِكَ تَحَرَّوا رَشَدًا

    " 'Among us are the submitters, and among us are the compromisers. " As for those who submitted, they are on the right path.

  16. وَأَمَّا القٰسِطونَ فَكانوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا

    As for the compromisers, they will be fuel for Gehenna.

  17. وَأَلَّوِ استَقٰموا عَلَى الطَّريقَةِ لَأَسقَينٰهُم ماءً غَدَقًا

    If they remain on the right path, we will bless them with abundant water.
  18. لِنَفتِنَهُم فيهِ ۚ وَمَن يُعرِض عَن ذِكرِ رَبِّهِ يَسلُكهُ عَذابًا صَعَدًا

    We will surely test them all. As for him who disregards the message of his Lord, He will direct him to ever increasing retribution.

  19. وَأَنَّ المَسٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلا تَدعوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا

    The places of worship belong to GOD; do not call on anyone else beside GOD.

God's Messenger of the Covenant*

  1. وَأَنَّهُ لَمّا قامَ عَبدُ اللَّهِ يَدعوهُ كادوا يَكونونَ عَلَيهِ لِبَدًا

    When GOD's servant advocated Him alone, almost all of them banded together to oppose him.

  2. قُل إِنَّما أَدعوا رَبّى وَلا أُشرِكُ بِهِ أَحَدًا

    Say, "I worship only my Lord; I never set up any idols beside Him."

  3. قُل إِنّى لا أَملِكُ لَكُم ضَرًّا وَلا رَشَدًا

    Say, "I possess no power to harm you, nor to guide you."

  4. قُل إِنّى لَن يُجيرَنى مِنَ اللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَن أَجِدَ مِن دونِهِ مُلتَحَدًا

    Say, "No one can protect me from GOD, nor can I find any other refuge beside Him.

  5. إِلّا بَلٰغًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِسٰلٰتِهِ ۚ وَمَن يَعصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسولَهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ نارَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدينَ فيها أَبَدًا

    "I deliver GOD's proclamations and messages." Those who disobey GOD and His messenger incur the fire of Hell, wherein they abide forever.

  6. حَتّىٰ إِذا رَأَوا ما يوعَدونَ فَسَيَعلَمونَ مَن أَضعَفُ ناصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا

    Once they see what is awaiting them, they will find out who is really weaker in power, and fewer in number.

  7. قُل إِن أَدرى أَقَريبٌ ما توعَدونَ أَم يَجعَلُ لَهُ رَبّى أَمَدًا

    Say, "I do not know if what is promised to you will happen soon, or if my Lord will delay it for awhile."
  8. عٰلِمُ الغَيبِ فَلا يُظهِرُ عَلىٰ غَيبِهِ أَحَدًا

    He is the Knower of the future; He does not reveal the future to anyone.

  9. إِلّا مَنِ ارتَضىٰ مِن رَسولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسلُكُ مِن بَينِ يَدَيهِ وَمِن خَلفِهِ رَصَدًا

    Only to a messenger that He chooses, does He reveal from the past and the future, specific news.*

  10. لِيَعلَمَ أَن قَد أَبلَغوا رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّهِم وَأَحاطَ بِما لَدَيهِم وَأَحصىٰ كُلَّ شَيءٍ عَدَدًا

    This is to ascertain that they have delivered their Lord's messages. He is fully aware of what they have. He has counted the numbers of all things.
