He Frowned
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Mercifulعَبَسَ وَتَوَلّىٰ
He (Muhammad) frowned and turned away.Cited in

What did He create him from?مِن نُطفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
From a tiny drop, He creates him and designs him.Cited in

We pour the water generously.ثُمَّ شَقَقنَا الأَرضَ شَقًّا
Then we split the soil open.فَأَنبَتنا فيها حَبًّا

وَعِنَبًا وَقَضبًا
Grapes and pasture.وَزَيتونًا وَنَخلًا
Olives and palms.Cited in

وَحَدائِقَ غُلبًا

وَفٰكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
Fruits and vegetables.Cited in

فَإِذا جاءَتِ الصّاخَّةُ

يَومَ يَفِرُّ المَرءُ مِن أَخيهِ

وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبيهِ

وَصٰحِبَتِهِ وَبَنيهِ
From his spouse and children.Cited in
لِكُلِّ امرِئٍ مِنهُم يَومَئِذٍ شَأنٌ يُغنيهِ
Each one of them, on that day, worries about his own destiny.Cited in
وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ مُسفِرَةٌ
Some faces on that day will be happy.Cited in

Laughing and joyful.وَوُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ عَلَيها غَبَرَةٌ

أُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الكَفَرَةُ الفَجَرَةُ
