The Snatchers

Sura 7946 versesRevelation order 81النازعات

  1. بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

    In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
  2. وَالنّٰزِعٰتِ غَرقًا

    The (angels who) snatch (the souls of the disbelievers) forcibly.

  3. وَالنّٰشِطٰتِ نَشطًا

    And those who gently take (the souls of the believers) joyfully.

  4. وَالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبحًا

    And those floating everywhere.

  5. فَالسّٰبِقٰتِ سَبقًا

    Eagerly racing with one another—

  6. فَالمُدَبِّرٰتِ أَمرًا

    to carry out various commands.

  7. يَومَ تَرجُفُ الرّاجِفَةُ

    The day the quake quakes.

  8. تَتبَعُهَا الرّادِفَةُ

    Followed by the second blow.
  9. قُلوبٌ يَومَئِذٍ واجِفَةٌ

    Certain minds will be terrified.

  10. أَبصٰرُها خٰشِعَةٌ

    Their eyes will be subdued.

  11. يَقولونَ أَءِنّا لَمَردودونَ فِى الحافِرَةِ

    They will say, "We have been recreated from the grave!

  12. أَءِذا كُنّا عِظٰمًا نَخِرَةً

    "How did this happen after we had turned into rotten bones?"

  13. قالوا تِلكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خاسِرَةٌ

    They had said, "This is an impossible recurrence."
  14. فَإِنَّما هِىَ زَجرَةٌ وٰحِدَةٌ

    All it takes is one nudge.
  15. فَإِذا هُم بِالسّاهِرَةِ

    Whereupon they get up.
  16. هَل أَتىٰكَ حَديثُ موسىٰ

    Have you known about the history of Moses?

  17. إِذ نادىٰهُ رَبُّهُ بِالوادِ المُقَدَّسِ طُوًى

    His Lord called him at the holy valley of Tuwaa.

  18. اذهَب إِلىٰ فِرعَونَ إِنَّهُ طَغىٰ

    "Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed."

  19. فَقُل هَل لَكَ إِلىٰ أَن تَزَكّىٰ

    Tell him, "Would you not reform?

  20. وَأَهدِيَكَ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخشىٰ

    "Let me guide you to your Lord, that you may turn reverent."

  21. فَأَرىٰهُ الءايَةَ الكُبرىٰ

    He then showed him the great miracle.

  22. فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصىٰ

    But he disbelieved and rebelled.

  23. ثُمَّ أَدبَرَ يَسعىٰ

    Then he turned away in a hurry.

  24. فَحَشَرَ فَنادىٰ

    He summoned and proclaimed.

  25. فَقالَ أَنا۠ رَبُّكُمُ الأَعلىٰ

    He said, "I am your Lord; most high."

  26. فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكالَ الءاخِرَةِ وَالأولىٰ

    Consequently, GOD committed him to the retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life.

  27. إِنَّ فى ذٰلِكَ لَعِبرَةً لِمَن يَخشىٰ

    This is a lesson for the reverent.

  28. ءَأَنتُم أَشَدُّ خَلقًا أَمِ السَّماءُ ۚ بَنىٰها

    Are you more difficult to create than the heaven? He constructed it.

  29. رَفَعَ سَمكَها فَسَوّىٰها

    He raised its masses, and perfected it.

  30. وَأَغطَشَ لَيلَها وَأَخرَجَ ضُحىٰها

    He made its night dark, and brightened its morn.

  31. وَالأَرضَ بَعدَ ذٰلِكَ دَحىٰها

    He made the earth egg-shaped.*

  32. أَخرَجَ مِنها ماءَها وَمَرعىٰها

    From it, He produced its own water and pasture.

  33. وَالجِبالَ أَرسىٰها

    He established the mountains.

  34. مَتٰعًا لَكُم وَلِأَنعٰمِكُم

    All this to provide life support for you and your animals.

  35. فَإِذا جاءَتِ الطّامَّةُ الكُبرىٰ

    Then, when the great blow comes.
  36. يَومَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسٰنُ ما سَعىٰ

    That is the day when the human will remember everything he did.

  37. وَبُرِّزَتِ الجَحيمُ لِمَن يَرىٰ

    Hell will be brought into existence.

  38. فَأَمّا مَن طَغىٰ

    As for the one who transgressed.

  39. وَءاثَرَ الحَيوٰةَ الدُّنيا

    Who was preoccupied with this life.

  40. فَإِنَّ الجَحيمَ هِىَ المَأوىٰ

    Hell will be the abode.
  41. وَأَمّا مَن خافَ مَقامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفسَ عَنِ الهَوىٰ

    As for the one who reverenced the majesty of his Lord, and enjoined the self from sinful lusts.

  42. فَإِنَّ الجَنَّةَ هِىَ المَأوىٰ

    Paradise will be the abode.

  43. يَسـَٔلونَكَ عَنِ السّاعَةِ أَيّانَ مُرسىٰها

    They ask you about the Hour, and when it will take place!

  44. فيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكرىٰها

    It is not you (Muhammad) who is destined to announce its time.

  45. إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهىٰها

    Your Lord decides its fate.

  46. إِنَّما أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخشىٰها

    Your mission is to warn those who expect it.
  47. كَأَنَّهُم يَومَ يَرَونَها لَم يَلبَثوا إِلّا عَشِيَّةً أَو ضُحىٰها

    The day they see it, they will feel as if they lasted one evening or half a day.
