Sura 8930 versesRevelation order 10الفجر

  1. بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

    In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
  2. وَالفَجرِ

    By the dawn.

  3. وَلَيالٍ عَشرٍ

    And the ten nights.*

  4. وَالشَّفعِ وَالوَترِ

    By the even and the odd.*

  5. وَالَّيلِ إِذا يَسرِ

    By the night as it passes.
  6. هَل فى ذٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِذى حِجرٍ

    A profound oath, for one who possesses intelligence.

  7. أَلَم تَرَ كَيفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعادٍ

    Have you noted what your Lord did to 'Ãd?

    Erum; the town with tall buildings.

    There was nothing like it anywhere.

    Also Thamoud, who carved the rocks in their valley.

  11. وَفِرعَونَ ذِى الأَوتادِ

    And Pharaoh who possessed might.

    They all transgressed in the land.

  13. فَأَكثَروا فيهَا الفَسادَ

    They spread evil throughout.

  14. فَصَبَّ عَلَيهِم رَبُّكَ سَوطَ عَذابٍ

    Consequently, your Lord poured upon them a whipping retribution.

  16. فَأَمَّا الإِنسٰنُ إِذا مَا ابتَلىٰهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقولُ رَبّى أَكرَمَنِ

    When the human being is tested by his Lord, through blessings and joy, he says, "My Lord is generous towards me."

  17. وَأَمّا إِذا مَا ابتَلىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيهِ رِزقَهُ فَيَقولُ رَبّى أَهٰنَنِ

    But if He tests him through reduction in provisions, he says, "My Lord is humiliating me!"

  18. كَلّا ۖ بَل لا تُكرِمونَ اليَتيمَ

    Wrong! It is you who brought it on yourselves by not regarding the orphan.

  19. وَلا تَحٰضّونَ عَلىٰ طَعامِ المِسكينِ

    And not advocating charity towards the poor.

  20. وَتَأكُلونَ التُّراثَ أَكلًا لَمًّا

    And consuming the inheritance of helpless orphans.

  21. وَتُحِبّونَ المالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا

    And loving the money too much.

  22. كَلّا إِذا دُكَّتِ الأَرضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا

    Indeed, when the earth is crushed, utterly crushed.

  23. وَجاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا

    And your Lord comes, together with the angels in row after row.

  24. وَجِا۟يءَ يَومَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَومَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسٰنُ وَأَنّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكرىٰ

    On that day, Gehenna will be brought forth. On that day, the human being will remember—but what a remembrance—it will be too late.

  25. يَقولُ يٰلَيتَنى قَدَّمتُ لِحَياتى

    He will say, "Oh, I wish I prepared for my (eternal) life."

  26. فَيَومَئِذٍ لا يُعَذِّبُ عَذابَهُ أَحَدٌ

    On that day, no retribution could be worse than His retribution.
  27. وَلا يوثِقُ وَثاقَهُ أَحَدٌ

    And no confinement is as effective as His confinement.
  28. يٰأَيَّتُهَا النَّفسُ المُطمَئِنَّةُ

    As for you, O content soul.

    Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing.

    Welcome into My servants.
