The Overwhelming
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Mercifulهَل أَتىٰكَ حَديثُ الغٰشِيَةِ
Are you aware of the Overwhelming?وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ خٰشِعَةٌ
Faces on that day will be shamed.عامِلَةٌ ناصِبَةٌ
Laboring and exhausted.تَصلىٰ نارًا حامِيَةً
Suffering in a blazing Hellfire.تُسقىٰ مِن عَينٍ ءانِيَةٍ
Drinking from a flaming spring.لَيسَ لَهُم طَعامٌ إِلّا مِن ضَريعٍ
They will have no food except the useless variety.لا يُسمِنُ وَلا يُغنى مِن جوعٍ
It never nourishes, nor satisfies hunger.وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ ناعِمَةٌ
Other faces on that day will be full of joy.لِسَعيِها راضِيَةٌ
Satisfied with their work.فى جَنَّةٍ عالِيَةٍ
In an exalted Paradise.لا تَسمَعُ فيها لٰغِيَةً
In it, no nonsense is heard.فيها عَينٌ جارِيَةٌ
In it, a spring flows.فيها سُرُرٌ مَرفوعَةٌ
In it, there are luxurious furnishings.وَأَكوابٌ مَوضوعَةٌ
And drinks made available.وَنَمارِقُ مَصفوفَةٌ
And pitchers in rows.وَزَرابِىُّ مَبثوثَةٌ
And carpets throughout.أَفَلا يَنظُرونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيفَ خُلِقَت

وَإِلَى الأَرضِ كَيفَ سُطِحَت
And the earth and how it is built.فَذَكِّر إِنَّما أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
You shall remind, for your mission is to deliver this reminder.Cited in

لَستَ عَلَيهِم بِمُصَيطِرٍ
You have no power over them.Cited in

إِلّا مَن تَوَلّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
As for those who turn away and disbelieve.Cited in

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ العَذابَ الأَكبَرَ
GOD will commit them to the great retribution.إِنَّ إِلَينا إِيابَهُم
To us is their ultimate destiny.Cited in
