Resurrection

Sura 7540 versesRevelation order 31القيامة

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
لا أُقسِمُ بِيَومِ القِيٰمَةِ
I swear by the Day of Resurrection.

Subject indexSwear › God's
وَلا أُقسِمُ بِالنَّفسِ اللَّوّامَةِ
And I swear by the blaming soul.

Subject indexBlame Souls › blaming Swear › God's
أَيَحسَبُ الإِنسٰنُ أَلَّن نَجمَعَ عِظامَهُ
Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones?

Subject indexBones Humans › disbelief in Hereafter Pairs
بَلىٰ قٰدِرينَ عَلىٰ أَن نُسَوِّىَ بَنانَهُ
Yes indeed; we are able to reconstruct his finger tip.

Subject indexFingerprints Fingers Scientific miracles
بَل يُريدُ الإِنسٰنُ لِيَفجُرَ أَمامَهُ
But the human being tends to believe only what he sees in front of him.

Subject indexHumans › believes only what sees Humans › faults
يَسـَٔلُ أَيّانَ يَومُ القِيٰمَةِ
He doubts the Day of Resurrection!
فَإِذا بَرِقَ البَصَرُ
Once the vision is sharpened.

Subject indexSharpened Vision › sight
وَخَسَفَ القَمَرُ
And the moon is eclipsed.

Subject indexEclipse Moon
وَجُمِعَ الشَّمسُ وَالقَمَرُ
And the sun and the moon crash into one another.

Subject indexMoon
يَقولُ الإِنسٰنُ يَومَئِذٍ أَينَ المَفَرُّ
The human being will say on that day, "Where is the escape?"

Subject indexEscape, none from God
كَلّا لا وَزَرَ
Absolutely, there is no escape.

Subject indexEscape, none from God
إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ يَومَئِذٍ المُستَقَرُّ
To your Lord, on that day, is the final destiny.

Subject indexDestiny › to God is ultimate Refuge › none from God
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ الإِنسٰنُ يَومَئِذٍ بِما قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
The human being will be informed, on that day, of everything he did to advance himself, and everything he did to regress himself.

Subject indexAdvance Inform, God will Regressing
بَلِ الإِنسٰنُ عَلىٰ نَفسِهِ بَصيرَةٌ
The human being will be his own judge.

Subject indexJudges Judging › by humans Judging › in hereafter
وَلَو أَلقىٰ مَعاذيرَهُ
No excuses will be accepted.

Muhammad Forbidden from Explaining the Quran

لا تُحَرِّك بِهِ لِسانَكَ لِتَعجَلَ بِهِ
Do not move your tongue to hasten it.

Subject indexMuhammad › revelation of Quran Quran › only source Quran › revelation of:Tongues
إِنَّ عَلَينا جَمعَهُ وَقُرءانَهُ
It is we who will collect it into Quran.

فَإِذا قَرَأنٰهُ فَاتَّبِع قُرءانَهُ
Once we recite it, you shall follow such a Quran.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَينا بَيانَهُ
Then it is we who will explain it.

كَلّا بَل تُحِبّونَ العاجِلَةَ
Indeed, you love this fleeting life.

Subject indexLife › priority to Love › of life Love › of materials
وَتَذَرونَ الءاخِرَةَ
While disregarding the Hereafter.

Subject indexDisregard › Hereafter Ignoring
وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ ناضِرَةٌ
Some faces, on that day, will be happy.

Subject indexFaces › happy Happiness
إِلىٰ رَبِّها ناظِرَةٌ
Looking at their Lord.
وَوُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ باسِرَةٌ
Other faces will be, on that day, miserable.

Subject indexFaces › miserable Miserable
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفعَلَ بِها فاقِرَةٌ
Expecting the worst.
كَلّا إِذا بَلَغَتِ التَّراقِىَ
Indeed, when (the soul) reaches the throat.

Subject indexDeath › time of described Souls › reaches your throat Throat
وَقيلَ مَن ۜ راقٍ
And it is ordered: "Let go!"

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الفِراقُ
He knows it is the end.

Subject indexDeath › time of described
وَالتَفَّتِ السّاقُ بِالسّاقِ
Each leg will lay motionless next to the other leg.

Subject indexDeath › time of described Legs
إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ يَومَئِذٍ المَساقُ
To your Lord, on that day, is the summoning.

Subject indexDeath › time of described Summoning
فَلا صَدَّقَ وَلا صَلّىٰ
For he observed neither the charity, nor the contact prayers (Salat).

Subject indexCharity › disbelievers and Contact prayer (Salat) › disbelievers Disbelievers › described
وَلٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّىٰ
But he disbelieved and turned away.

Subject indexDisbelievers › described Turn › away
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلىٰ أَهلِهِ يَتَمَطّىٰ
With his family, he acted arrogantly.

Subject indexArrogance Disbelievers › described
أَولىٰ لَكَ فَأَولىٰ
You have deserved this.

Subject indexDeserving Disbelievers › described
ثُمَّ أَولىٰ لَكَ فَأَولىٰ
Indeed, you have deserved this.

Subject indexDeserving Disbelievers › described
أَيَحسَبُ الإِنسٰنُ أَن يُترَكَ سُدًى
Does the human being think that he will go to nothing?

Subject indexHumans › disbelief in Hereafter Unaccountable
أَلَم يَكُ نُطفَةً مِن مَنِىٍّ يُمنىٰ
Was he not a drop of ejected semen?

Subject indexDrop, creation from Semen
ثُمَّ كانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوّىٰ
Then He created an embryo out of it!

Subject indexCreation › of individuals Embryos
فَجَعَلَ مِنهُ الزَّوجَينِ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنثىٰ
He made it into male or female!

Subject indexFemales (see also Women) › creation Males
أَلَيسَ ذٰلِكَ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلىٰ أَن يُحۦِىَ المَوتىٰ
Is He then unable to revive the dead?

Subject indexDeath › resurrection Resurrected
