Sura 9115 versesRevelation order 26الشمس

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
وَالشَّمسِ وَضُحىٰها
By the sun and its brightness.

وَالقَمَرِ إِذا تَلىٰها
The moon that follows it.

وَالنَّهارِ إِذا جَلّىٰها
The day that reveals.

وَالَّيلِ إِذا يَغشىٰها
The night that covers.

Subject indexDarkness › physical Nature › signs in Night › as a cover
وَالسَّماءِ وَما بَنىٰها
The sky and Him who built it.

وَالأَرضِ وَما طَحىٰها
The earth and Him who sustains it.

Subject indexEarth › God controls Nature › signs in
وَنَفسٍ وَما سَوّىٰها
The soul and Him who created it.

Subject indexNature › signs in Souls › perfected
فَأَلهَمَها فُجورَها وَتَقوىٰها
Then showed it what is evil and what is good.

Subject indexEvils › God shows Good › God shows what is Teacher › God as
قَد أَفلَحَ مَن زَكّىٰها
Successful is one who redeems it.

وَقَد خابَ مَن دَسّىٰها
Failing is one who neglects it.

Subject indexNegligence Souls › neglecting own
كَذَّبَت ثَمودُ بِطَغوىٰها
Thamoud's disbelief caused them to transgress.

Subject indexSaleh Thamud Transgressions
إِذِ انبَعَثَ أَشقىٰها
They followed the worst among them.

Subject indexFollowers › of worst Saleh Thamud
فَقالَ لَهُم رَسولُ اللَّهِ ناقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقيٰها
GOD's messenger said to them, "This is GOD's camel; let her drink."

Subject indexCamels Saleh Thamud
فَكَذَّبوهُ فَعَقَروها فَدَمدَمَ عَلَيهِم رَبُّهُم بِذَنبِهِم فَسَوّىٰها
They disbelieved him and slaughtered her. Their Lord then requited them for their sin and annihilated them.

وَلا يَخافُ عُقبٰها
Yet, those who came after them remain heedless.
