The Bright Star
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Mercifulوَما أَدرىٰكَ مَا الطّارِقُ
Do you know what Al-Taareq is?1

The bright star.1

إِن كُلُّ نَفسٍ لَمّا عَلَيها حافِظٌ
Absolutely, everyone is well guarded.2

فَليَنظُرِ الإِنسٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
Let the human reflect on his creation.2

خُلِقَ مِن ماءٍ دافِقٍ
He was created from ejected liquid.3

يَخرُجُ مِن بَينِ الصُّلبِ وَالتَّرائِبِ
From between the spine and the viscera.3

إِنَّهُ عَلىٰ رَجعِهِ لَقادِرٌ
He is certainly able to resurrect him.2

يَومَ تُبلَى السَّرائِرُ
The day all secrets become known.1

فَما لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلا ناصِرٍ
He will have no power, nor a helper.2

وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ الرَّجعِ
By the sky that returns (the water).3

وَالأَرضِ ذاتِ الصَّدعِ
By the earth that cracks (to grow plants).1

إِنَّهُ لَقَولٌ فَصلٌ
This is a serious narration.1

Not to be taken lightly.2

They plot and scheme.2

But so do I.1

فَمَهِّلِ الكٰفِرينَ أَمهِلهُم رُوَيدًا
Just respite the disbelievers a short respite.1
